Join us in a lively conversation with exhibiting artist Mark Dion and renowned writer Lawrence Weschler, moderated by Senior Curator of Art René de Guzman, on wonder and its role in the future of museums. The Marvelous Museum: A Project by Mark Dion—Orphans, Curiosities & Treasures of the Oakland Museum of California opens today and is on view through March 6, 2011. Weschler is the director of the New York Institute for the Humanities at New York University, and has written seminal books, such as Mr. Wilson's Cabinet of Wonder (1995), Everything That Rises: A Book of Convergences (2006), and Seeing Is Forgetting the Name of the Thing One Sees: Over Thirty Years of Conversations with Robert Irwin (2008), among others.
